A strong field of more than 30 modifieds are headed to southern Virginia for Saturday’s King of the Modifieds spectacular at South Boston Speedway. The 125-lap race pays $20,000 to win, but more importantly, the victor becomes royalty in the modified community, with the reading of a declaration and the reward of a king’s crown and cloak with the SMART Modified Tour powered by Pace-O-Matic.

The second running of the SMART Modified Tour’s “King of the Modifieds” at South Boston Speedway is just days away. The first edition proved to be unpredictable as a young gun upstaged the old guard to claim the crown and the throne. What will happen this year? Well, we’re all going to find out together. FloRacing and the zMAX CARS Tour have teamed up to pay out one of the most fun and unique new post-race awards in motorsports. The new “FloRacing Field Master” award will be paid out at the end of every Late Model Stock Car and Pro Late Model race throughout the 2025 season, with a bigger bonus award to be given out at the end of the year.

Luke Baldwin, the 2024 SMART Modified Tour champion, has signed a deal to make his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut in the No. 66 Ford F-150 for ThorSport Racing at Martinsville Speedway on Friday, March 28, the team announced Thursday. Baldwin told FloRacing that he signed a three-race deal with his remaining two races still to be announced.

The Kubota High Limit Racing Series was introduced in 2022 and enjoyed its first full season as a mid-week series in 2023, featuring 13 events. The 2024 scheduled included nearly 60 races.

Ever since Joe Gibbs told his Joe Gibbs Racing drivers that they were allowed to run extracurricular races outside of NASCAR again, his drivers have been exercising that right to its fullest extent. Christopher Bell went back to the Chili Bowl, winged Sprint Car racing, and even ran a pavement Super Late Model race, while Ty Gibbs also went to the Chili Bowl.

At just 13 years of age, Wyatt Earnhardt Miller, the grandson of seven-time NASCAR champion Dale Earnhardt Sr., has already experienced plenty in motorsports. He’s won a Golden Driller at the Tulsa Shootout and he’s found success racing off-road trucks, but in 2025 he’s going to add new experiences to his already deep resume.
