The CARS Tour's maiden voyage to the Peach State of Georgia is now in the books, and what a night it was in front of a capacity crowd at Cordele Motor Speedway. Connor Hall out-dueled Mini Tyrrell to claim his second victory of the young Late Model Stock Car season, while young Tristan McKee claimed his first win of the season in the Pro Late Model feature.
NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. worked his way into the top five late in the Late Model Stock Car feature before his night came to a premature end on a restart stack-up inside the final ten laps. Carson Loftin's Nelson Motorsports No. 22 was right in front of Earnhardt on the restart. Loftin's car failed to get going and Earnhardt Jr. piled into the back of him, forcing Earnhardt Jr. to finish a disappointing 21st after such a strong run. Earnhardt Jr. will be back behind the wheel of his Late Model Stock Car in August at Anderson Motor Speedway in South Carolina.
Second-generation racer Keelan Harvick made his CARS Tour Pro Late Model debut on Saturday night in impressive fashion. Harvick led almost every single practice session throughout the weekend, and then claimed the pole for his first race with the Tour. Harvick led almost half the race before missing a shift on a restart and dropping back to seventh. Harvick was able to rebound to finish fifth.
The full results for both races can be found below.
