Weekly Preview: NASCAR Roots On FloRacing (May 6-7)
Preview all of the action coming up this weekend under the NASCAR Roots and NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series banners on FloRacing.
In 2022, FloRacing has become the home of all things NASCAR Roots racing, from the ARCA Menards Series to the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, to weekly racing at Bowman Gray Stadium, Berlin Raceway and beyond. Now that the racing season is fully underway, we wanted to make sure you, the fans, are completely up to speed on what is racing each week under the NASCAR Roots banner on FloRacing.
Friday
Season Opener at Autodrome Granby
Sportsman Modifieds will headline the season-opener at Quebec’s Autodrome Granby. Granby is the only NASCAR-sanctioned dirt track to be broadcast on FloRacing in 2022, and the half-mile dirt track will kick off its season Friday night at 6:30 p.m. ET. Pro Stocks and Sport Compacts will join the Sportsman division on the racing card.
Saturday
ARCA Menards Series East at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway
The stars and cars of the ARCA Menards Series East will invade the historic Nashville Fairgrounds for the Music City 200. Sammy Smith has two ARCA Menards East victories this season at New Smyrna Speedway and Five Flags Speedway, and he’s the defending winner of this race. Green flag is tentatively scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET.
Opening Day at Riverhead Raceway
Long Island’s only race track will kick off its 2022 season on Saturday night. The NASCAR Modifieds will race for 50 laps around the quarter-mile bullring. They will be joined by the Crate Modifieds, Legends, Late Models, Blunderbusts, Super Pro Trucks and the “World Famous Figure 8s.” Racing is scheduled to begin shortly after 6 p.m. ET.
Opening Day at Jennerstown Speedway
Pennsylvania’s Jennerstown Speedway will begin its 2022 campaign with a full card of racing. Late Models, Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Street Stocks, Chargers and Fast 4s will all be on the schedule. Racing is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. ET.
Super Late Models at Berlin Raceway
The always entertaining Super Late Models will headline Saturday’s schedule at Michigan’s challenging half-mile oval. This race will serve as a qualifying event for next month’s Money in the Bank 150. Racing is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. ET.
Twin Late Model Features at Langley Speedway
Virginia’s Langley Speedway will have its headlining Late Model Stock Car division run twin features on Saturday night. Limited Late Models, Super Streets, and Super Trucks will all be on the schedule as well. Saturday’s action is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET.
Twin Late Model Features at Hickory Motor Speedway
Hickory’s headlining Late Model Stock Car division will run two 40-lap features on Saturday night. Street Stocks, Limited Late Models, Renegades and 4-Cylinders will also be on the card at the “Birthplace of the NASCAR Stars.” Racing is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET.
Late Models at Florence Motor Speedway
South Carolina’s Florence Motor Speedway will be in action on Saturday night for the “Prelude to Darlington.” The Late Model Stock Cars will race for 60 laps around Florence, which sits just a few minutes away from the legendary Darlington Raceway. Mini Stocks, Super Trucks, Chargers, Allison Legacy, Mini Stocks, Legends and more will be in action Saturday. Racing is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET.
Modifieds at Bowman Gray Stadium
The always entertaining Bowman Gray Stadium will see its headlining Modified division race for 100 laps on Saturday night. The Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Stadium Stocks will all be in action as well. Racing will begin at 8 p.m. ET from the Madhouse.
Winged Sprint Cars at Meridian Speedway
Boise, Idaho’s Meridian Speedway is set for a thrilling night of action. Winged Sprint Cars will headline the night, in addition to Pro Late Models, Mini Stocks, and Factory Stocks. There will also be a demolition derby and boat races, which should make for a fun evening. Racing will begin at 8:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. MT.
Pro Late Models at Evergreen Speedway
Monroe, Washington’s Evergreen Speedway will have six divisions in action Saturday night headlined by the Pro Late Models. Street Stocks, Legends, Pro 4 Trucks, Outlaw Figure 8s and Super Stock Figure 8s will all be in action. Racing is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. ET/6p.m. PT.
