The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour returns to Long Island’s Riverhead Raceway for the second time this season to pay tribute to Eddie Partridge, a long-time team-owner on the Tour and considered by many to be the savior of Riverhead Raceway, in Saturday’s “Eddie Partridge 256.”

Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) announced Thursday that three-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Champion (NWMT) Justin Bonsignore will drive the team’s No. 19 Toyota GR Supra in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) on Saturday, June 22.

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour heads to one of its oldest race tracks for the first of two trips this weekend to Long Island’s Riverhead Raceway. It’s bullring racing time, and “The ‘Head” always brings out a strong local contingent of drivers known as “The Long Island Gang” ready to defend their home turf against the invaders.

It's hard to believe there are still tracks out there at which Matt Hirschman doesn't have a win. Amazingly, there are still some, and until Saturday night, Riverhead Raceway was one of them. Incredibly, the entire Hirschman family had never won at the challenging Long Island quarter-mile bullring. But Hirschman finally conquered the track in Saturday's seventh annual Islip 300.

The Islip 300 at Riverhead Raceway has quickly established itself as one of the bigger races of the year in the Northeast. Now in its seventh year, the Islip 300 has a stacked entry list consisting of many Riverhead regulars and some of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour’s best.

The battle for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour championship has been like riding a seesaw. One second you're on top, and the next you're looking up at the guy who is on top waiting for your chance to be on top again. After the Tour's third and final trip to Riverhead Raceway this season, Justin Bonsignore is back on top looking down at Ron Silk.

NASCAR announced Friday that it has reinstated driver J.B. Fortin, and that Fortin will be in competition on Saturday night in the Eddie Partridge 256 at Riverhead Raceway, Fortin’s home race track. Fortin had been suspended for the last six races following an incident at Wall Stadium in July.

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour heads back to Long Island’s Riverhead Raceway on Saturday night for the third and final time of the season, and this time with so much on the line. There’s just four races left on the calendar for the season, and just one point separates Ron Silk from Justin Bonsignore as they head out to “The Head.”

Kyle Larson led 99 laps and won a stage before finishing fourth in Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway, but that’s not what anybody will remember from his day in the heartland. Instead, it will be the run-in that he had with teammate Chase Elliott that will make the promotional reels.

It took a long time, but in his 24th start at Riverhead Raceway, Ron Silk finally found his way to victory lane. Silk scored his second win of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season on Saturday night in the Miller Lite Salutes Mike Ewanitsko 200 at Riverhead Raceway, holding off 10-time Riverhead winner, Justin Bonsignore. In doing so, Silk extended his points lead over Bonsignore. Silk entered the night with just a four-point margin over Bonsignore.

In a late-night Facebook post on Tuesday, reigning NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Jon McKennedy announced that his race team is shutting down immediately, leaving McKennedy without a ride currently.

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour is headed back to the east end of Long Island to take on the tight confines of Riverhead Raceway for the second time this season, and this time the 27-car field will be paying tribute to the legendary Mike Ewanitsko in the “Miller Lite Salutes Mike Ewanitsko 200.”

Justin Bonsignore is a three-time champion of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and winner of 36 races total. Bonsignore's 36th victory came on Sunday afternoon in the Buzz Chew 200 at his home track of Riverhead Raceway where he now has a massive 10 total wins at the quarter-mile bullring. Bonsignore took the lead from Ron Silk late and then held off Silk and the rest of the field on an overtime finish to capture the win.

Riverhead Raceway, one of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour’s most traditional venues, is up next on the 2023 schedule as the track hosts the Buzz Chew Chevrolet Cadillac 200 this Saturday, May 20 (FloRacing, 8 p.m. ET).
