What To Expect Saturday Night

This will be the first race ever for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour at New Smyrna Speedway. Thirty-one cars have made their way to the Sunshine State to kick off the 2022 season. 

Notes

- Justin Bonsignore enters Saturday's season opener as the two-time defending NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion. 

- NASCAR Cup Series star Ryan Preece will be back behind the wheel of the legendary Ole Blue Modified for tonight's race.

- Former NASCAR Truck Series driver Spencer Davis has returned to the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour with his own race team. 

- Matt Hirschman, the two-time defending Tour-type Modified champion at New Smyrna, is considered one of the favorites to win tonight's race. 

- Ron Silk will be making his first NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour start with the HYR team tonight. He will have championship winning crew chief Phil Moran on his side for this race and throughout the season. 

Format 

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will qualify at 5:45 p.m. to set the lineup for tonight's 200-lap feature race. There will be an on-track autograph session prior to the main event at 7:30 p.m.
