Funny Car Chaos is set to make its grand debut at Albuquerque Dragway this weekend, July 28-29, promising a jam-packed two-day event filled with drag racing action. This sixth stop on the tour marks a significant milestone as Albuquerque Dragway celebrates its 60th Anniversary, and fans can expect an unforgettable event like never before.

Steve Torrence won the Top Fuel class at the Flav-R-Pac NHRA Northwest Nationals in Kent, Washington over the weekend as Pacific Raceway hosted the three-day event from July 20-23.

We have reached the halfway point of both the Spell Paving Services Funny Car Chaos and DMP Awnings Nitro Chaos Championship series. In both, the points battles are shaping up to be nail biters and each qualifying session and elimination round now become so very important to the many teams chasing those precious points. Not only are teams in a quest for the glory of a Championship, but they are also hunting their take of over $30,000 in year end points payouts across the Top 10 finishers of Funny Car Chaos and Top 5 finishers of Nitro Chaos. Looking deeper into the Funny Car Chaos side, four races have been completed on the eight race points schedule. Young gun funny car pilot Alex Barker had led the standings through most of the first half of the season in his Oklahoma based “Back In Black” GTO bodied alcohol burner, until the most recent event at Cordova Dragway. A first round loss put Barker on the trailer early, while 2022 FCC Championship runner-up Tom Furches wheeled his Colorado based “Made In America” Firebird to the winners circle and assumed the points lead in the current standings.

Cordova Dragway witnessed an electrifying showdown as Funny Car Chaos (FCC) brought the heat to the Twisted Shifterz Summer Nationals presented by 360-Steel. With a field of 32 qualified cars, this event was destined to go down in history.

Team Owner, Driver and Illinois Native, Allan Middendorf announced Wednesday that he will make his 2023 Funny Car Chaos debut June 16-17 at Cordova Dragway in Cordova, Illinois after taking a two year hiatus from the series.

“I stepped away from drag racing to prioritize my businesses,” Middendorf says. “During the COVID pandemic, the Middendorf Companies continued operation due to the government infrastructures we support. We provide heavy equipment services to various institutions which requires tremendous responsibility and liability. It was in my best interest to focus on day-to-day operations and put the pursuit of drag racing titles on the back burner.”

This weekend in the cornfields of Iowa, the biggest feature event in Eddyville Raceway Park history will unfold as a three day CHAOS double header is set for May 26-28th. Megan Meyer will return to A/Fuel dragster competition to take part in the inaugural Nitro Chaos Championship Series with the Randy Meyer Racing Team.
