In response to a post from IHRA on Friday, March 7, 2025 that Maryland International Raceway was being acquired by IHRA, MIR would like to make it clear that the track is not being acquired by IHRA.  The inclusion of MIR as one of the multiple racetracks being acquired by IHRA was an error. MIR was not made aware of the content of the post until after it had been released.  To reiterate, MIR is not selling the track to IHRA.  MIR has requested that IHRA clarify its post to remove MIR as one of the listed racetracks being acquired by IHRA.

The drag racing community is mourning the loss of T.J. Bailey, a dedicated track specialist at Texas Motorplex, who tragically lost his life during the severe storms that swept through Ennis, Texas, on Saturday morning. He was 42 years old.

The drag racing community received devastating news on Saturday, March 8, when word spread that longtime track specialist and event official T.J. Bailey was killed when a severe storm with powerful straight-line winds touched down at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas. Bailey and his family were camping at the track in anticipation of this week’s TX2K25 presented by Summit Racing Equipment, which will proceed as planned in Bailey’s memory.

The World Series of Pro Mod 2025 at Bradenton Motorsports Park is back on FloRacing this week with more than 80 cars entered in the headlining Pro Mod class as drivers fight for the $150,000 top prize.

The inaugural Drag Illustrated Winter Series presented by J&A Service will reach its dramatic finale this weekend when the series crowns its first-ever champion at the Drag Illustrated World Series of Pro Mod, Feb. 27-March 1, at Bradenton Motorsports Park. More than 80 Pro Mod drivers from across North America and beyond will compete for the $150,000-to-win event title, while a select few racers are in contention for the $25,000 championship bonus after the first two races of the series.

Spencer Hyde entered the 2023 Drag Illustrated World Series of Pro Mod as a relative unknown on the national Pro Modified scene. He had success in his native Canada, but his 2023 victory over Kurt Steding in the $100,000 final round put him on an international pedestal. He’s since continued to prove his driving prowess by picking up a PDRA Pro Boost win in one of the class’s toughest fields, and he’s climbed the ranks by competing in NHRA Top Fuel with the license he earned just days before his WSOPM win.

For the second and third years, respectively, the Pro 10.5 Challenge and the Mountain Motor Pro Stock Invitational will join Pro Modified in the World Series of Pro Mod lineup at Bradenton Motorsports Park. Like Pro Mod, both supporting classes are expecting their largest fields yet, with both competing for $25,000 winner-take-all paydays. Here’s a look at the drivers who will be taking part in these two highly anticipated shootouts. Note: These entry lists reflect the list of drivers who’ve completed the online registration form. Additional racers are expected to join before qualifying begins on Thursday.

Canadian Drag Racer, Spencer Hyde, completed his licensing process and becomes the most recent licensed NHRA Funny Car Driver. Head Racing and Spencer were one of a handful of teams that were at Gainesville Raceway for a pre-season test session this weekend. Head and Hyde attended this session with hopes of making enough successful passes to obtain a cross-over license. Hyde is already licensed and has competed in Top Fuel and Pro Mod, but had never driven a Funny Car before the test session began on Friday.
