NASCAR released the tentative weekend schedule and format for the 2025 Clash exhibition race at Bowman Gray Stadium on Thursday afternoon. The weekend schedule gave teams and fans the first look at how the entire weekend will play out at the historic facility in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

The Clash, which will see NASCAR Cup Series cars in action at Bowman Gray for the first time since 1971, will be a two-day event for the Cup Series on Saturday, February 1, and Sunday, February 2.

The Cup Series teams will have a 1:50-minute practice and qualifying session on Saturday, February 1. The field will be broken into three groups, with each group getting three timed sessions throughout the entire session. That practice/qualifying session will determine the starting lineups for the four heat races to take place later that evening.

Beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET, four 25-lap heat races will be run to determine who locks into Sunday’s 200-lap main event. The amount of drivers being taken from each heat race to the main event was not yet announced.

Sunday, February 2 will see 275 laps of action for the Cup Series across two different races. The Last Chance Race will be a 75-lap race that will determine the final starting positions for the 200-lap main event. The Last Chance Race will go green at 6 p.m. ET.

Then the 200-lap main event will follow at 8 p.m. ET. Only green-flag laps will count in the main event.

On top of all of that, the Modifieds, which is the headlining division in weekly competition at Bowman Gray, will also run a 125-lap exhibition race during the weekend. The Modified event will go green at 1:45 p.m. ET on Saturday, February 1. Modified teams will get a 45-minute practice session earlier that morning at 11:15 a.m. with qualifying to follow at Noon ET.

Thanks to the addition of the Clash to Bowman Gray’s schedule, NASCAR’s oldest weekly racing track is in the process of receiving some upgrades ahead of February’s race weekend. The track is receiving a new Musco LED lighting system, as well as new retaining walls and SAFER Barriers, plus new catch-fencing. Bowman Gray has long had a standard guardrail in place, but that is in the process of being replaced. Installation of the new catch fence and barriers is expected to be completed by the first week of January.

The inaugural NASCAR Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium is already completely sold-out, but fans can watch Sunday’s action live on FOX. Broadcast information for Saturday’s racing action has yet to be released.
