Stephen Nasse Seals The Deal In Snowflake 100 At Five Flags Speedway
Stephen Nasse claimed his first career Snowflake 100 victory on Saturday night at Five Flags Speedway.
The three previous Allen Turner Hyundai Snowflake 100’s saw a grand total of zero lead changes, with the polesitter leading wire to wire in each race. The trend was bucked in a big way on Saturday night.
Stephen Nasse drove through the 24th starting spot to win the Pro Late Model crown jewel, his first Snowflake win in his career. The Florida native took the lead for good with 41 laps to go after polesitter Dylan Cappello and led the rest of the way.

It is Nasse’s first win on Snowball Derby weekend, finding redemption from when he was disqualified from the 2019 Snowball Derby after taking the checkered flag first.
“Matt had me a little bit worried there, I thought he had a little bit of a better car than I did. I’m so proud of my dad and everybody that’s put a hand in this racecar. They ain’t taking this one from us, I can tell you that,” Nasse said in victory lane.
“It feels damn good. I hope everybody enjoyed the show.I had a great time putting it out there for everybody with some great racing, three-wide for the lead. I’m just glad we’re able to come home with the win.”
Matt Craig never left the podium after starting on the outside front row and led the most laps during the race, but would settle for second after 100 laps. The former CARS Tour Super Late Model champion led through the early and middle stages after multiple battles with Nasse and Cappello for his best finish during Snowball Derby weekend.
“It was really good to fire off. The No.11 (Dylan Cappello) was giving me a good run at the beginning, maybe I pushed the right front a little hard too soon,” Craig said. “I don’t know, you have to do what you have to do, these races are so hard to win.
“This car was not good at all and we kept tuning on it and making it better and better. It was so close, but next time.”
Snowflake 100 rookie Seth Christensen joined the pair of veterans on the podium after his maiden appearance on Derby weekend. A winner in Allen Turner Pro Late Model competition in 2024, the teenager from Georgia worked from the eighth starting spot to finish third.
“It’s just so much fun. These two guys in front of me have won more races than I’ve been in. I think this is the oldest car in the field, Ricky Turner’s done a great job with this thing.
“This is just a race that’s been a dream to be a part of. To finish third here in my first attempt is pretty good. It was a crazy race, I went forwards and backwards and even sideways sometimes. It was a blast, I’m super thankful.”
The Outlaw feature saw history continue to be made as Augie Grill went to victory lane to end Saturday night. The two-time Snowball Derby winner now has nine wins in four different divisions on Derby weekend, both records.
Snowball Derby weekend concludes on Sunday afternoon with the 57th running of the most prestigious race in Super Late Model racing. FloRacing’s live coverage begins with a pre-race show at 11 a.m. ET.
