Kaden Honeycutt inherited the win in the Pro Truck race to kick off the 57th Annual Snowball Derby in post-race technical inspection.

Original race winner Steven Davis led flag to flag and crossed under the checkered flag, but was later disqualified in post-race tech after being found to have aluminum lug nuts, according to head tech inspector Freddie Query.

For Honeycutt, the win kicks off a busy Snowball Derby weekend that sees him compete in four separate races over the course of the event.  The CARS Tour Pro Late Model champion now has his sights set on Derby qualifying and the Modifieds of Mayhem race Friday night.

“It was definitely not how I like to win a race.  Honestly, I’ve never really had that happen to me before," Honeycutt said.  "I hate the way that it went down.  I struggled a little bit early, we went with low air just hoping it would pay off in the long run but we never really had one.  Thankfully, that last restart I was able to go from fourth to second and ultimately that was what let us be able to win the race.”

“I’m trying to do something really different, which is win four races on Derby week.  I got that done last night so we’ll move on to Derby qualifying and the Mods of Mayhem race tonight and try to keep the streak going.  Hopefully we can get a good qualifying run in and get into the top-five, and have a good Sunday.”
