Steven Davis kicked off the night in victory lane following a wild 50-lap Pro Truck feature; however, his victory was stripped away in post-race technical inspection. Davis' disqualification handed the win to NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competitor Kaden Honeycutt, who was competing in his first of four planned races during Snowball Derby week.
In the Sportsmen division, Chad Robinson started the night by breaking the Five Flags track record, then ended the night in victory lane for his first win on Derby weekend. The 2024 track champion at nearby Mobile International Speedway started from the pole and never looked back, leading every lap in the caution-free affair.
“I’ve been trying to win this race for over ten years and it’s always something. I’ve finished second a couple times, third, it just always seems to bite me,” said Robinson. “I think I’ve got the monkey off my back now.”
“This race is my nemesis. I can have a spectacular year and then I come over here and something happens. It feels really good to finally get one in the bag.”
It was another first-time winner to end the night, as Mason Johnston took the Pure Stock Snowball Derby feature win after leading wire to wire. He matched grandpa Okie Mason’s feat from 2013 when he won the Snowball Derby feature for the former Super Stock division.
“This is the biggest race in most people’s careers. I’ve dreamed of winning one of these since I was a kid. My grandpa won one of these 11 years ago and I’m glad I can hang this Snowball Derby flag next to his now.”
All results posted below are unofficial pending post-race technical inspection.
Racing action resumes at Five Flags Speedway on Friday morning with Super Late Model practice at 10 a.m. Fans will be able to watch all of the on-track action beginning at 9:45 a.m. CT on FloRacing. If you're not already a FloRacing subscriber, click here to sign up today.
