Four Injured In Plane Crash Near NHRA Pomona Finale
Four injuries have been reported in a single-engine plane crash near site of NHRA finale at Pomona Raceway.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, a single-engine plane crashed into the Pomona Dragstrip pit area during Sunday's NHRA finale. The plane was attempting to land at a nearby airfield when the crash occurred.
The pilot and three passengers aboard the plane were injured in the crash and transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No injuries were reported among the fans and competitors on the ground at the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals.

The crash occurred shortly after 11 a.m. PT and the emergency call came in at approximately 11:11 a.m. As a result of the crash, NHRA officials were prompted to bring a stop to racing for over an hour. Racing resumed at 1 p.m. PT.

According to officials, the plane was attempting to land at Brackett Field Airport, which is located on the west side of the track. The Los Angelas Fire Department is reporting that there were four passengers on board the aircraft.
The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation. The fire department reported the pilot missed the drag strip itself, as well as the spectator grandstands.
