A Vermont tradition continued Sunday afternoon with the 62nd running of the Vermont Milk Bowl at Thunder Road Speedbowl. An event that began with nearly 50 American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Models in the pit area ended with Marcel Gravel kissing the cow for the first time in victory lane. 

Gravel began the first 50-lap segment from the third position and took the lead on Lap 9 with a pass around polesitter Gabe Brown. He never looked back from there on his way to claiming the win in the opening segment. 

A 26-car invert after the first segment resulted in Gravel starting the all-important second segment in 26th. Gravel moved his No. 86 Late Model through the field better than any of the front runners in the opening segment, charging all the way to a 10th-place finish. That charge earned him a comfortable six point gap over his closest challenger entering the final segment. 

A relatively relaxed seventh-place finish in the third segment sealed the deal for Gravel and his first career crown jewel victory at Thunder Road. 

Three-time Milk Bowl winner Jason Corliss used a runner-up finish in the final segment to finish second in the overall standings. Jimmy Hebert, Kaiden Fisher and Bryan Wall Jr. completed the top five. 

In addition to Gravel, Scott Dragon (Segment 2) and three-time Milk Bowl winner Brian Hoar (Segment 3) earned segment victories.
