Landon Huffman Wins CARS Tour Throwback Best Appearing Car Award
Landon Huffman has been named the winner of the 2024 Best Appearing Car award during CARS Tour Throwback 276 Weekend at Hickory Motor Speedway.
The annual “Throwback 276” for the CARS Tour never fails to deliver on the race track and off. From the action on track to the throwback paint schemes, it’s an event that fans and teams look forward to every year. This year was no different as the teams showed out with beautiful throwback schemes that had fans energized to vote for their favorite during the Best Appearing Car Contest on FloRacing.
Without further adieu, the winner of the 2024 “Best Appearing Throwback” fan vote is Claremont, North Carolina’s Landon Huffman. Huffman was running a tribute scheme to his father, Robert. The scheme was identical, with original sponsors, to the scheme that Robert Huffman was running when he scored his last Late Model victory at Hickory Motor Speedway 31 years ago in 1993.
Huffman, who is now a part-time CARS Tour competitor, narrowly beat out Buddy Isles Jr., who was running a scheme based on Dale Earnhardt’s 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games scheme. With nearly 6,000 votes cast over a 54-hour period, Huffman won by just 61 votes over Isles. Huffman received 20.52% of the votes received.
For his award, Huffman will receive a $500 cash prize from FloRacing, as well as an entire body kit rom Five Star Bodies. He will also receive a free pair of custom ear molds from series presenting sponsor, SoundGear.
For finishing second in the voting, Buddy Isles will receive a $250 certificate for use at Five Star Bodies. Isles received 19.47% of the votes.
On the Pro Late Model side, George Phillips and his Jeff Gordon DuPont flames throwback was the highest scored Pro Late Model scheme. Phillips will also receive a $250 certificate to be used at Five Star Bodies.
Overall, the CARS Tour fanbase was clearly very energized to get out and vote on their favorite throwback schemes this year. FloRacing received more than double the amount of votes this year compared to the 2023 contest.
The CARS Tour will be back in action in just a few days for a doubleheader at the historic North Wilkesboro Speedway on Saturday, August 3. Race fans can catch both features from North Wilkesboro Speedway live on FloRacing with a FloRacing subscription. To subscribe to FloRacing, click here.
