16th Hampton Heat At Langley Speedway: Everything You Need To Know
Entry list, previous winners, how to watch and more for the 2024 Hampton Heat at Langley Speedway.
The 16th running of “America’s Hottest Race,” the Hampton Heat 200 at Langley Speedway is finally upon us. It is expected to be the biggest version yet, so let’s make sure you the race fan knows what to expect heading into Saturday night.
What Is The Hampton Heat?
The Hampton Heat is a 200-lap Late Model Stock Car race held at Virginia’s Langley Speedway in Hampton, Virginia. The Hampton Heat is the biggest race of the year at Langley, and is also the second leg of the Virginia Triple Crown. The other two races that make up the Triple Crown are the Thunder Road Harley-Davidson 200 at South Boston Speedway, and the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 at Martinsville Speedway.
Who Is Racing In The 2024 Hampton Heat?
So far 38 teams and drivers have filed entries for this weekend’s Hampton Heat, which makes this the largest field the Hampton Heat has ever seen. The previous record for entries was 37 in 2014.
This year the field consists of some of the best local talent that Langley Speedway has to offer, as well as some of the top drivers from the CARS Tour, and NASCAR Hall of Famer, Dale Earnhardt Jr.
This is not only the first time Earnhardt will have competed in the Hampton Heat, but it is also Earnhardt’s first time ever racing at Langley Speedway.
But in order to get the win he’ll have to contend with CARS Tour points leader and Langley dominator Connor Hall as well as Brenden “Butterbean” Queen, Trevor Ward, Kaden Honeycutt, Peyton Sellers, Bobby McCarty and a whole bunch more.

Who Has Won The Hampton Heat?
Throughout the prior 15 years of running this event, the Hampton Heat has been won by a who’s who of Late Model Stock Car racing. CE Falk III leads all drivers with three Hampton Heat victories, but Late Model greats such as Lee Pulliam, Peyton Sellers, Philip Morris and Josh Berry have all scored Hampton Heat victories as well.
Three-time CARS Tour champion Bobby McCarty won the Hampton Heat in 2017 and has won the pole for the last two Hampton Heats. Connor Hall scored his lone Hampton Heat triumph in 2019. And Brenden Queen is a two-time Hampton Heat winner, scoring wins in 2020 and 2023. Queen is also the only driver aside from Falk to have won the Hampton Heat multiple times.
