Just over two weeks after an accident at Virginia Motorsports Park, John Force Racing released a statement that 16-time NHRA Funny Car champion John Force was released from VCU Medical Center and transferred to a neurological rehab center on Tuesday.

After spending Monday with his daughter, two-time NHRA Top Fuel world champion Brittany, Force was transported by an AirMed ambulance to a neurological rehab center to continue treatment for a traumatic brain injury suffered in the crash on June 23.

According to the statement, Force is currently dealing with cognitive and behavioral symptoms from the traumatic brain injury and is still prone to periods of confusion.

This update comes as extremely positive news to both medical professionals and the Force family who has been by Force's side since the accident, although medical staff caution that the road to recovery will be a long one.
