The Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series kicks off on July 12 at West Virginia’s Beckley Motor Speedway, which means some of Late Model racing’s best will do battle across the southeast for 12 races in 16 days. Before the Southern Nationals Series gets underway, let’s get you caught up with everything you need to know.

What Is The Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series?

Now in its 20th season, the Southern Nationals Series is a mid-summer Dirt Late Model series owned and promoted by Ray Cook. The series will race 12 times across a span of 16 days and will visit the states of West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina. The season begins on July 12, and will end on July 27. Tennessee’s Jimmy Owens is the reigning champion.

2024 Southern Nationals Series Schedule

The 20th season for the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series kicks off on July 12 at West Virginia’s Beckley Motor Speedway. From there the series heads to the high-banked Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia on July 13. The next night the series heads south on I-81 to the high-banked Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee.

After one night off, the series is back in action on July 16 at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tennessee. The series then takes another night off to travel down to Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia, beginning a stretch of four races in four nights that includes East Alabama Motor Speedway, Screven Motor Speedway, and Swainsboro Raceway on July 21.

From there the series heads back north to Gaffney, South Carolina’s Cherokee Speedway on July 23. On July 25 the series heads to Toccoa Raceway in Georgia, then North Georgia Speeday in Chatsworth on July 26, and then the series concludes on the super high-banks of Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee on July 27.
