It’s the third race weekend this year in which both divisions will compete on the same night at the same track. This weekend’s events will mark the sixth and seventh races of the young season, and the ultra-competitive nature of the layout at Ace is sure to provide plenty of thrills. In addition to the zMAX CARS Tour, the Ace Limited Late Models and Champ Karts will be on the program for the evening.

Millington Looking for Another Ace Trophy
Ryan Millington earned his first zMAX CARS Tour victory in 2020 at Ace Speedway and will be a threat to challenge for the top spot again this weekend. Millington, whose family team consists of himself and his father, Scott, have put together quite a record on the quick layout at Ace. Since 2018, Millington has finished no worse than eighth in CARS Tour action here. The Statesville, N.C. native is fast nearly everywhere he goes, but especially at Ace, as he won pole for CARS Tour events in both 2019 and 2022. After four races so far, Millington is eighth in LMSC points, just 32 markers off the top spot.
Sawalich Seeks Another First Place at Ace
William Sawalich won the Pro Late Model race here in the summer of 2022, driving his familiar Starkey Sound Gear-clad racer. The young Minnesotan returns this weekend in hopes of earning another in the Pro Late Model division. The 18-year-old has had a busy season so far, winning at Phoenix Raceway in ARCA Menards Series and earning a pair of pole positions in his two series starts.
McCarty Showing Championship Form
Three-time LMSC champion Bobby McCarty has been solid at every stop on the season schedule thus far, winning at New River All-American Speedway and controlling the most recent event at Orange County Speedway before a crash ended his night in 24th. Prior to that, McCarty earned a 10th-place finish in the season opener at Southern National Motorsports Park, ran to sixth place at Hickory Motor Speedway and led 49 laps at New River All-American on the way to victory. Should McCarty finish in the top five on Friday in his No. 6 Black Acid Apparel Ford, it will mark his 40th top-five finish in 83 zMAX CARS Tour LMSC races.
Davis Seeks Pro Win at Ace
Spencer Davis has shown a lot of speed in the three Pro LM races he’s competed in this season with the zMAX CARS Tour, finishing sixth in the season opener at SNMS, second at Hickory and third at Orange County. That’s an average finish of 3.6, and Davis is looking to improve that number this weekend at Ace. The 25-year-old Dawsonville, Ga. native has competed in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, the ARCA Menards Series and the NASCAR Whelen Modified tours in his career, as well as winning Pro Late Model races across the Southeast. His No. 29 Bolen Construction Chevrolet has been a factor all season, and Davis would like to end up in Victory Lane.
Brandon Jones Joins CARS Tour On Off-Weekend
JR Motorsports NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Brandon Jones will compete this weekend in the LMSC division, teaming up again with Hawk-McCall Racing to race the No. 9 Chevrolet this weekend and in two more CARS Tour events at North Wilkesboro Speedway and Hickory Motor Speedway. Jones and Hawk-McCall Racing won at Concord (N.C.) Motor Speedway back in 2012. “It’s truly an honor to be back with Hawk-McCall Racing after all these years,” said Jones. “The opportunity to reunite with the team brings back fond memories of our past successes, particularly our win at Concord Speedway in 2012. It’s incredible to reflect on how far we’ve come since then, transitioning from the early days of my career at just 14 years old with Lee McCall, to now being 27 and ready to bring a decade more of experiences to the table.”
