Keelan Harvick Ends Stellar Night In Victory Lane At New River Speedway
Keelan Harvick had his first double-duty night, scoring a win and a runner-up result at New River All-American Speedway.
For the first time in his very young racing career, Keelan Harvick raced a full-sized stock car Saturday night at Jacksonville, North Carolina’s New River All-American Speedway. On top of that, he ended up pulling double-duty with a race in his Legends car as well. At the end of both races, the second-generation driver left with a 1.5 average finish after winning the Legends race and finishing second in the Street Stock feature.
Harvick’s win in the Legends feature near the end of Saturday’s racing program was a thriller. He and Jacob Staten were trading the lead back and forth what felt like every lap for most of the 30-lap feature before Harvick managed to secure it coming out of the final corner to the checkered flag.
“I made that one a little bit harder on myself,” said Harvick in victory lane. “I hit the wall down there with like five laps to go. He got by me, and I just crossed him over. He raced me really clean.”
First time @newriverswy and pulling double duty was a blast! This may have been one of the most fun Legends races I’ve ever been a part of! I sat on the pole and battled for the top spot all race long and got the W at the end! Video @FloRacing pic.twitter.com/kCLS91SnYu

Keelan Harvick, the son of NASCAR Cup Series champion and CARS Tour co-owner Kevin Harvick, pulled off a double-duty night for the first time in his career. The 11-year-old was supposed to make his full-sized stock car debut in the Street Stock on Friday night while running the Legends race on Saturday, but rain in the area forced the Street Stock race to join the program on Saturday.
“It was very tiring, but we got it done,” Harvick said after both races were complete. “(My arms) will probably be very sore.”
