It had amazingly been more than three months since defending CARS Tour champion Carson Kvapil visited victory lane before he took the checkered flag on Friday night at Ace Speedway. Kvapil's win ended a dry spell that dated back to May 5 when the series last visited the 4/10-mile Ace Speedway, and it completed a sweep of the series' two trips to the Altamahaw, North Carolina track. 

The victory on Friday night is the fourth win of the season for Kvapil. Kvapil won three races in a row earlier this season at Florence Motor Speedway, Hickory Motor Speedway, and Ace, before finally getting back to victory lane on Friday once again at Ace. 

Brenden Queen led the most laps on Friday night, securing two bonus points in the championship battle, but a fifth-place finish meant that Queen lost ground in the standings to Kvapil. Kvapil entered Friday's race with an 18-points advantage over Queen, and that gap only grew wider with Kvapil's series-leading fourth victory of the season.
