One of auto racing’s most popular drivers is headed to North Wilkesboro Speedway a little early as Chase Elliott announced on May 9 he would would race in the ASA STARS National Tour.
The announcement brings even more buzz to North Carolina as other star drivers like Erik Jones and Noah Gragson announced they would also race in the event.
The event is part of a big week for the North Wilkesboro Speedway, which re-opened last year with some help from Dale Earnhardt Jr. North Wilkesboro is hosting the NASCAR All-Star Race on May 21, but before that race, the track has a full week.

North Wilkesboro Speedway Schedule For ASA STARS Tour
A 50-lap last chance race will qualify six additional drivers into the ECMD 150 feature for the ASA STARS National Tour.
A practice/qualifying session for the CARS Tour Pro Late Models will begin at 11:45 a.m. ET and will be followed by a practice/qualifying session for the CARS Tour Late Model Stock Cars.
The ASA STARS National Tour last chance race is slated to begin at 2:45 p.m. ET, with the ECMD feature scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.
The CARS Tour Pro Late Model feature will start at 8 p.m. ET, with the CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car to follow at approximately 10 p.m. ET.
Fans will be able to watch all of the action from North Wilkesboro Speedway beginning at 11:45 a.m. ET for CARS Tour qualifying.
