The quest for three CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car championships in a row was always going to be difficult. The competition is as good as it gets with any series in the country, but Carson Kvapil’s task became even harder when it was announced that he would be missing a race at Hickory Motor Speedway next month so he can make his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut.

It’s hard to believe that the CARS Tour season is about to come to an end this Saturday at North Carolina’s Caraway Speedway, but with 15 races in the books we’ve only got one left. And entering season finale we have two drivers who have a chance to win the championship in Carson Kvapil and Brenden Queen.

For the fifth time this season, defending CARS Tour champion Carson Kvapil was the one taking pictures and spraying the champagne in victory lane, but this time he really had to work for it. A terrible qualifying effort resulted in Kvapil starting from the 18th position in the 21-car starting field on the tight confines of Wake County Speedway. Kvapil slowly and methodically worked his way through the field and eventually into the lead.

Carson Kvapil picked up the hat trick on Friday night with a dominant wire-to-wire performance in the CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car 125-lap feature at Altamahaw, North Carolina's Ace Speedway. Some expected Kvapil to struggle a bit at Ace, but instead he won the pole and led all 125 laps to pick up his third win in a row and third win in the first four races of the 2023 season.
