Pit Box: ARCA West Reaches 1,000th Race Milestone At Evergreen Speedway
The ARCA Menards Series West will run its 1,000th race with the running of the NAPA Auto Parts ARCA West 150 at Evergreen Speedway
Saturday will be a night of historical significance for the ARCA Menards Series West at Evergreen Speedway, as the division celebrates its 1,000th race with the running of the NAPA Auto Parts ARCA West 150.
The proud tradition of NASCAR’s western stock car division began all the way back in 1954, when Dick Rathmann won the inaugural race at Oakland Stadium. Many talented drivers have come through the West Series since that day, with some of the more notable names including Jack McCoy, Ray Elder, Hershel McGriff, Jimmy Insolo and many more.
Evergreen has hosted more events for the West Series than any other track with 59. Dick Bown took home a victory in the inaugural West Series event at Evergreen back in 1964, while current NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competitor Blaine Perkins won the most recent race at the facility back in 2020.
While the past will be honored during pre-race ceremonies, the current generation of West Series drivers will look to make their own stamp on history by battling it each other for the opportunity to win the division’s 1,000th race.
Tickets to Saturday’s NAPA Auto Parts ARCA West 150 at Evergreen Speedway are available. Below is everything to know about the event.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR:
In the past two months of West Series competition, no driver has been as dominant as Jake Drew.
After failing to win a race during his rookie season, Drew has since won the last three West Series events at Portland International Raceway, Sonoma Raceway and Irwindale Speedway. The efficiency displayed by Drew has allowed him to build a comfortable, 45-point advantage over Cole Moore in the point standings.
As with most of the drivers entered in the NAPA Auto Parts ARCA West 150, Drew enters Saturday evening with little to no experience at Evergreen. Takuma Koga leads the field with the most starts at Evergreen, having raced there seven times between 2002 and 2020 with a best finish of ninth in his most recent appearance.
Drew and Koga will be joined by most of the other West Series regulars in Moore, Tanner Reif, Todd Souza, Joey Iest and Landen Lewis. Also making the trip to Evergreen is Sidney, British Columbia native David Smith, who is making his West Series debut.
