The first standalone race of the 2022 ARCA Menards Series West season takes center stage Saturday at California’s Irwindale Speedway for the NAPA Auto Parts 150 presented by West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame.

The 150-lap event at the popular half-mile paved oval is scheduled for Saturday evening at 7 p.m. PT / 10 p.m. ET.

Saturday’s race marks the 31st time Irwindale has hosted the West Series, with defending champion Jesse Love winning each of the last three visits to the track in 2021 and 2020.

Tickets to Saturday’s NAPA Auto Parts 150 presented by West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame are available. The race will be live streamed on FloRacing and broadcast via delay on USA Network on Friday, April 1, at 1 p.m. ET.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR:

With Love not competing at Irwindale this year, the window is wide open for a new face to visit Victory Lane this weekend.

Headlining the entry list for Saturday’s race is defacto West Series championship leader Jake Drew. The driver of the No. 6 Stilo USA-Offset Sport Ford for Bob Bruncati finished fifth in the ARCA Menards Series combination race at Phoenix Raceway on March 11 and was the highest West Series regular in the final running order.

Drew finished fourth and second in the two races at Irwindale last season. He’ll look to do one position better Saturday night.

Bill McAnally Racing will bring two cars to Irwindale, with Cole Moore and Austin Herzog aiming to give team owner Bill McAnally his first victory of the young season. Moore also raced at Irwindale last year with a best finish of fifth. This will be Herzog’s debut at Irwindale in West Series competition.

The lone Irwindale West Series winner expected to be in action Saturday night is Trevor Huddleston, who will be aboard the No. 50 YouRaceLA Chevrolet owned by his father, Irwindale Speedway president Tim Huddleston. The 25-year-old Trevor Huddleston earned his victory in 2019 in a photo finish with current NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Tanner Gray. The margin of victory that day was 0.030 seconds.

Other drivers with Irwindale experience on the entry list include Joey Iest, who scored a third-place finish at the facility last year. P.J. Pedroncelli also has a third-place finish at Irwindale on his résumé. Both drivers could be in contention to win Saturday night if the cards fall their way.

Other regular West Series competitors expected to compete are Bridget Burgess, Todd Souza and Takuma Koga.

Several other drivers will be making their Irwindale debuts Saturday night. They include Sunrise Ford Racing rookie Tanner Reif, Stafford Smith, Chris Lowden, Tim Spurgeon, Andrew Tuttle and Kyle Keller.
