The biggest Dirt Modified event of the year came to a close Saturday night, with one driver standing above the rest — and $100,025 richer. Drake Troutman topped a stacked field of 93 competitors to capture the Modified World Championship at Mississippi Thunder Speedway.

Troutman initially took the lead from polesitter Tanner Mullens on lap 11 of the 75-lap main event before giving the lead up to Jake Timm on lap 22. Tyler Nicely took command on a lap 30 restart before Troutman powered back to the lead for good two laps later. 

Jim Chisholm, Nicely, Rodney Sanders and Kyle Strickler completed the top five.
