The most anticipated Dirt Modified race of the year is here. This week, more than 130 Modified drivers from across the nation will converge on Mississippi Thunder Speedway to compete for a $100,025 payday in the Modified World Championship.
To get you ready for this week's event, we've assembled a breakdown of the race format, event schedule and more need-to-know information about the 2025 Modified World Championship.

Modified World Championship Format
Wednesday Format
- Practice & Qualifying for Modifieds only.
- Five groups with 40 cars maximum in each group.
- Qualifying will be contested for both Thursday and Friday night's preliminary features.
Thursday/Friday Format
- 10-lap heats with lineups determined from qualifying on Wednesday.
- 10 heats (Odd numbered heats racing for Feature A and even numbered heats racing for Feature B).
- Top 3 in each heat advance to Thursday's Feature A/B.
- 2 B-Mains each for A/B Feature (Top 4 advance from each B-Main to Feature A/B).
- B-Mains will be 12 laps (Could be adjusted based on car counts).
- All A & B Features will be 30 laps.
- Top 5 from Feature A & B are locked into Saturday A-Main (10 total drivers).
- Drivers that finish in the top five of Feature A & B may throw out their Thursday night finish and run again on Friday but if you throw out Thursday night finish, you cannot revert back to it.
- Friday show will be a repeat of Thursday’s show less top five cars from each of Thursday’s features.
- By the end of Thursday and Friday, 20 cars will be locked into Saturday’s A-Main. Remaining 10 cars will come from B-Main.
Saturday Format
- 20 cars will be locked following Thursday and Friday's features.
- The remaining cars will run in alphabet soup
- All four winners from Thursday and Friday will redraw for top four feature spots and all second-place cars from Thursday and Friday will redraw for spots 5-8.
- The remaining 12 cars that were locked in will be lined straight up for A-Main.
- All non-qualified drivers after Thursday/Friday will line up in alphabet soup based on their best points night from Thursday/Friday. Points are only accumulated during Features or B-Mains from Thursday/Friday.
- Top 12 cars advance in each alphabet soup race except for the B-Main. The B-Main will transfer the top 10 finishers to the A-Main.
- Alphabet soup will start with the I-Main.
- All Alphabet soup races will be 15 laps except for B-Main will be 20 (Laps could be adjusted based on car counts).
- Saturday's A-Main will be 80 laps feature 30 cars battling for $100,025 to-win.
- There will be a pit stop on lap 40 where drivers can re-fuel and change one tire
- All non-qualified cars from the B & C Mains will lineup up straight up for Saturday’s $2,525 to-win, 25-lap Non-Qualifiers Race.
