Scott McLaughlin Crashes On Pace Lap At 2025 Indy 500
2025 Indianapolis 500 contender Scott McLaughlin crashed out of the race before it even started.

Scott McLaughlin's Indianapolis 500 ended before it even started Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Right after taking the one-to-go signal on opening pace laps, McLaughlin lost control of his No. 3 Team Penske race car and crashed head-first into the inside wall just before the green flag dropped.
McLaughlin emerged OK and crouched down in the infield with devastation after the incident. He called the devastating crash "the worst moment of my life" on FOX's live broadcast. He also wrecked during qualifying practice over the weekend.
The wreck occurred at 1:21 p.m. after roughly a 42-minute rain delay that pushed back the green flag from 12:46 to 1:38 p.m. It's unclear whether the track was still wet from the earlier rain delay, but his opportunity to contend for the Indy 500 is officially over.
