FloRacing and the zMAX CARS Tour have teamed up to pay out one of the most fun and unique new post-race awards in motorsports. The new “FloRacing Field Master” award will be paid out at the end of every Late Model Stock Car and Pro Late Model race throughout the 2025 season, with a bigger bonus award to be given out at the end of the year.
The rules for the FloRacing Field Master award are simple: pass the most cars. To be clear, this is not your typical “hard charger” award. The driver that makes the most green-flag passes for position counted at the start/finish line during a race will be named the FloRacing Field Master for that race. It is not about how many positions gained from a driver’s starting spot. A driver can start on the pole, get spun out and go to the rear and rally back to the front and those positions gained will count.
On top of that, at the end of the year, the driver with the most passes on the season will win the $2,000 bonus and be named the FloRacing Field Master of the Year.
More than $11,000 will be paid out over the course of the 15-race Late Model Stock Car season, while nearly $10,000 will be paid out over the 13-race Pro Late Model season. $750 will be awarded to the driver that makes the most passes at each event, with the drivers who made the most passes on the season from each division receiving a $2,000 bonus.
“The CARS Tour is the most competitive and exciting pavement short track series out there these days, and we’re thrilled to be able to give these drivers an extra incentive to make things even more competitive and exciting,” said Michael Rigsby, FloRacing’s General Manager. “We’re excited to see how each race plays out moving forward as drivers go after the FloRacing Field Master award, and we can’t wait to see how things play out at the end of the year with an extra $2,000 on the line as well.”

“The CARS Tour is thrilled to implement the FloRacing Field Master award for both divisions in 2025,” said Karsyn Elledge, Partnerships and Marketing Manager for the CARS Tour. “FloRacing has consistently helped to elevate many aspects of our series over the last couple of years and this is another to add to the list. The Field Master bonus provides an opportunity to reward drivers who may have had an unfortunate start to the night, but worked hard to rebound. The most important thing to us and our partners is how we can give back to the competitors in a way that genuinely makes a difference, so we greatly appreciate FloRacing stepping up in a way that enables us to do that.”
So far one race is in the books for each division with the zMAX CARS Tour opening its season at New River All-American Speedway in Jacksonville, North Carolina back on March 1. On the Late Model Stock Car side, veteran racer Chad McCumbee made the most passes with 39. The Late Model Stock Car race saw a total of 634 passes throughout the 125-lap race. Meanwhile, on the Pro Late Model side, Dylan Garner won the FloRacing Field Master award with 14 passes made.
Race fans will be able to keep track of the FloRacing Field Master award all season long through the CARS Tour race broadcasts on FloRacing, on CARS Tour’s social media, and with a physical leaderboard that will be on display at each and every CARS Tour race all season long.
The drivers that won the award at the previous race will then add their name to the leaderboard during pre-race ceremonies at the next race. Each driver will choose a fan to join them on the track to write in their name, and those lucky fans will receive a CARS Tour/FloRacing prize pack as well.
The zMAX CARS Tour will be back on track on March 29 at Raleigh, North Carolina’s quarter-mile bullring known as Wake County Speedway for a 125-lap Late Model Stock Car throwdown. The Pro Late Models will be back in action when both divisions head to Cordele Motor Speedway in Cordele, Georgia for the first time in CARS Tour history.
