Williamson dominated the Super DIRTcar Series trail in 2024, winning eight of the 19 races en-route to his second series title. He started off the year winning his second DIRTcar Nationals Big Gator in a row at Volusia Speedway Park, and also added an Outlaw 200 win at Fulton Speedway.
It will be Williamson’s debut in an open-wheel car. He joins the likes of former Chili Bowl winner Tim McCreadie, Larry Wight, Stewart Friesen, Billy Pauch Jr., and others who have made the move from the Big-Block Modified world to the Midget in Tulsa.
Meanwhile, Yankowski will head to the biggest Midget event on the planet with previous experience in a Midget. “Kid Rocket” made three starts during USAC Eastern Midget Week in 2019 and 2020 in his home state of Pennsylvania, posting a best finish of 14th at Action Track USA. He is also coming off a Micro Sprint win at Millbridge Speedway on December 21.
He won with the Super DIRTcar Series at the World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway in just his second series start in 2021. Yankowski earned the 2024 Short Track Super Series South Region championship with a win at Bridgeport Motorsports Park and no finish worse than eighth, while also adding his second-career Super DIRTcar Series win at Fulton Speedway.
