2025 Chili Bowl Prelim Night Rosters Revealed
2025 Chili Bowl Prelim Night Rosters Revealed
Preliminary night rosters have been revealed for the 2025 Chili Bowl Nationals at the SageNet Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
We’re officially one week away from racing at the 39th Chili Bowl Nationals, and as a gift, the event dropped the first look at 2025 preliminary night rosters late Sunday night.
Per usual, the 371 entries have been split into five prelims running from Monday to Friday. The entire field gets practice on Sunday, and everyone is back on track together on Saturday with the famed alphabet soup leading to the now 40-lap Championship A-Main where the Golden Driller is decided.

There are five former Chili Bowl champions in the field and they’re competing on four different nights. In total, 71 Championship A-Main starters are entered, and that group is currently split up with 15 A-Main starters on Monday, 11 on Tuesday, 20 on Wednesday, 14 on Thursday, and 11 on Friday.
Of the 100 Preliminary A-Main starters returning from 2024, they’re split up with 20 on Monday, 16 on Tuesday, 23 on Wednesday, 20 on Thursday, and 21 on Friday.
The full preliminary night entry lists can be found at the bottom of this story.
MONDAY NIGHT
Kyle Larson, a two-time Chili Bowl Champion in 2020-21 and two-time Golden Driller winner at the Tulsa Shootout last week, is the most notable switch to Monday night. Returning in the Silva Motorsports, FloRacing #1K, “Yung Money” eyed the switch to night one so he could knock out the Race of Champions and his Preliminary A-Main in one swing.
He’ll try to stop the undefeated streak of Keith Kunz Motorsports on Monday, having won all six contests since the night was added in 2019. Of those six wins, five have come from Cannon McIntosh (2020, 2021, 2023) and Tanner Carrick (2022, 2024), who both remain in KKM cars and look to fend off Larson on night one.
Outside of prelim winners Larson, McIntosh, and Carrick, Shane Golobic and Brent Crews are Monday night’ers who have previously locked-in before. Golobic will be in his familiar Matt Wood Racing, NOS Energy Drink #17W while Crews runs a Paul May Motorsports #71M, fresh off a Golden Driller at the Tulsa Shootout.
Additional noteworthy names on Monday include Briggs Danner, Joe B. Miller, Trey Marcham, Gary Taylor, Dillon Welch, Justin Peck, and Kyle Jones, among others.
TUESDAY NIGHT
Tuesday is the only night that doesn’t feature a former Chili Bowl champion, but it does boast four former preliminary winners on the card.
Buddy Kofoid, on the heels of a tremendous World of Outlaws rookie campaign, will don his standard Mobil1 colors on the #71W, eyeing a third win in the last four years on Tuesday. He’ll have to again deal with Oklahoman Hank Davis in Matt Seymour’s #29, who ran second to him last year and won the year prior in 2023.
Jonathan Beason (2014) and Zach Daum (2010) are also Tuesday night victors in the past. Both are back to their traditional nights after swaying away in recent years with Beason in his usual Hard 8 Racing #8J, while Daum goes over to his outdoor outfit with the Trifecta Motorsports #7U.
Tuesday also brings us the return of Brad Sweet, coming back to Tulsa after a two-year break. The Kubota High Limit Racing champion will again pair up with RMS Racing, eyeing his seventh top-10 in what would be his seventh Chili Bowl Championship A-Main start.
Other names to watch for on Tuesday night include NASCAR Cup Series driver Ty Gibbs, Thomas Meseraull, Kevin Thomas Jr., Kameron Key, Kaylee Bryson, and Tom Harris, among others.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT
By the numbers, Wednesday is arguably the toughest preliminary night as it reads now with 20 Chili Bowl Championship A-Main starters (7 from last year) and 23 of last year’s preliminary A-Main starters – all the most of any night next week.
19-year-old Corey Day, with a career in NASCAR seemingly looming, is coming back with Willie Kahne to defend their Wednesday 2024 win and find two extra spots on Saturday for the Golden Driller. He’s one of five former prelim winners in Wednesday’s field along with Slammin’ Sammy Swindell, J.J. Yeley, Jerry Coons Jr., and Alex Bright.
That fivesome will be joined by a huge cast of competitors including recent standouts Daison Pursley, Emerson Axsom, Mitchel Moles, Kale Drake, Steven Snyder Jr., Blake Hahn, Jake Swanson, Jason McDougal, and Tim Buckwalter.
The line doesn’t stop there as many more Chili Bowl Championship A-Main starters such as Colby Copeland, Kyle Cummins, Jake Neuman, Brandon Waelti, Steve Buckwalter, and Colten Cottle are in the field as well.
THURSDAY NIGHT
The big story on Thursday is three-time Chili Bowl champion, Christopher Bell, coming back after a two-year break. Fresh off a Tulsa Shootout Golden Driller, CBell will reunite with Keith Kunz Motorsports in a potent Rheem #71W, chasing his eighth consecutive Thursday victory.
Bell will battle another Chili Bowl champion in Tanner Thorson, who won his Golden Driller back in 2022 when he went toe-to-toe and out-dueled Bell for the title. Nowadays, Thorson, who has started each of the last 10 Chili Bowl Championship A-Mains, is driving his personally owned #88.
It’s neither Bell nor Thorson defending Thursday’s win, however, as that honor belongs to Spencer Bayston in his RMS Racing #1S ride.
Other notable names on Thursday that are no stranger to the Chili Bowl A-Main include Shane Cottle, Andrew Deal, Brady Bacon, Casey Shuman, Matt Westfall, CJ Leary, Ryan Bernal, Chris Windom, and Karter Sarff.
FRIDAY NIGHT
The two-time and defending Chili Bowl champion, Logan Seavey, is the headliner on Friday aboard his Swindell/Bertrand/Curb, Victory Fuel #39. In the seven different times he competed on-track last year, Seavey averaged a 1.4 finish inside the Tulsa Expo – his worst finishes being a 2nd in his Friday Heat, Friday Qualifier, and Saturday Pole Shuffle. He won everything else; he was that good.
Before Seavey, Justin Grant was Mr. Friday Night in Tulsa, winning five of six prelims from 2017-22. JG is not officially entered yet for the Chili Bowl, but is expected to announce his plans soon and one would assume he’ll be back to battle Seavey on Friday.
The biggest addition to Friday comes with “Sunshine” Tyler Courtney joining the final prelim and making his Tulsa debut in the Silva Motorsports #23C as Kyle Larson’s teammate. Another notable change is Chase McDermand coming over to Friday after a podium run on Wednesday last year.
The likes of Daryn Pittman, Michael Faccinto, Andrew Felker, Ryan Timms, Ricky Stenhouse Jr, Michael Pickens, and Ronnie Gardner are all likely to compete for Friday successes as well.
Friday will also mark the highly-anticipated Chili Bowl debut of one-day NASCAR Hall of Famer, Kyle Busch. The Richard Childress Racing superstar, who just won a Golden Driller as the dad and owner of Brexton Busch’s Jr. Sprint at the Tulsa Shootout, will now pilot a Lucas Oil, FloRacing #51K in his first try with Midgets in the Expo.
FloRacing is the official live streaming partner of the Chili Bowl Nationals, which officially begins on Monday, January 13 and continues all the way through Saturday, January 18.
