The 2025 Dirt Late Model season begins with this weekend's Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts at FK Rod Ends Vado (N.M.) Speedway Park, where nearly 50 Dirt Late Model drivers compete in the six-race miniseries bookended by $25,000-to-win programs.

A last-lap pass of Brandon Sheppard lifted Bobby Pierce to his second straight victory Sunday to start the the 2025 campaign. Pierce, who won Saturday's $25,000 opener, collected $10,000 for the second-round Wild West Shootout victory.

Oregon native Collen Winebarger led the first 21 laps and positioned himself for a monumental victory against the likes of Pierce and Sheppard, building a 2.2-second lead early until Brandon Sheppard led laps 22-32. Pierce led lap 22 before Sheppard led laps 34-39. Five lead changes transpired over the 40-lap feature.
