Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s 2025 Late Model Stock Car racing schedule is beginning to take shape, as we now know of at least one race that the two-time Daytona 500 champion plans on racing. To the surprise of nobody, his first confirmed race will be in Timmonsville, South Carolina at Florence Motor Speedway.

Earnhardt Jr. shared to his Instagram story late last week the words “I’ll see y’all in August” when he shared Florence Motor Speedway’s 2025 schedule post. The zMAX CARS Tour, of which Earnhardt Jr. is a co-owner, will be competing at Florence Motor Speedway on Friday, August 29, as the lead-in to the Southern 500 at nearby Darlington Raceway that weekend.

The NASCAR Hall of Famer’s most recent Late Model Stock Car race came in November’s South Carolina 400, also at Florence. Earnhardt Jr. broke out his iconic red Budweiser No. 8 scheme for the first time since leaving Dale Earnhardt Inc. for Hendrick Motorsports at the end of the 2007 NASCAR Cup Series season. Florence Motor Speedway was sold-out as a result, and recently, the 1:24-scale die-cast of the Budweiser No. 8 LMSC was named as Lionel Racing’s top-selling die-cast of the 2024 season. Earnhardt Jr. was running in second late in the race before a mechanical issue ended his night early.

Earnhardt Jr. at this point is no stranger to Florence Motor Speedway. Between CARS Tour races, multiple South Carolina 400 starts, and multiple Icebreaker starts, Earnhardt Jr. is closing in on double-digit starts there.

Now, the question is what other races, if any, Earnhardt Jr. has planned for 2025. The opportunity to run a handful of times throughout the summer of 2024 presented itself after Earnhardt Jr.’s contract with NBC Sports expired and he didn’t have any broadcasting responsibilities.

But in 2025, Earnhardt Jr. will be back in the television booth calling NASCAR events again on Prime and TNT beginning with Memorial Day Weekend’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, and ending with the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 27.

So, that means that we can expect to see Earnhardt Jr. race in early spring, or late summer and fall. That is, of course, if Earnhardt Jr. has plans for any other additional races on his calendar, though it sounds like he does.

Earnhardt Jr. has mentioned “plans” for potentially racing at the recently confirmed inaugural race at Cordele Speedway in Cordele, Georgia on April 12, as well as the Tour’s first race at Anderson Motor Speedway in South Carolina since 2017 on August 16.

When Earnhardt Jr. was asked on “X” if he was running the Cordele race, he replied “I plan on it.” And when he was asked about Anderson, he said, “It’s on my short list.”

If those starts come to fruition, that would put Earnhardt Jr. up to three races, and it wouldn’t shock anybody if he returns to New River All-American Speedway for the CARS Tour’s season-opener on March 1, either.

Could there be any others? We’ll just have to wait and see.
