Ricky Thornton Jr. won on the first night of the 2024 Gateway Dirt Nationals at The Dome at America's Center. Thornton Jr. raced in the A-Main Modifieds race on Thursday, Dec. 5. With the win, he qualifies for the Modifieds main event on Saturday, Dec. 7.

The top three finishers from the A-Mains qualified for the main event -- Carlos Ahumada Jr. and Michael Long were the other two drivers.
Thornton Jr. moved up from Row 3, along with Ahumada, to win the race.
RTJ has the potential to do the double this year, as he'll be racing in the second group of Super Late Models tomorrow, Dec. 6.

Where Is The Gateway Dirt Nationals?
The Castrol Gateway Dirt Nationals take place at The Dome At America's Center. This stadium in St. Louis, MO, is the former home of the NFL's St. Louis Rams before they subsequently moved west and became the Los Angeles Rams.
The Dome is located in downtown St. Louis, and holds more than 67,277 spectators. The Gateway Dirt Nationals debuted at The Dome in 2016.
What Is The Gateway Dirt Nationals Track Size?
The temporary dirt track at the Dome at America's Center is a 1/5-mile long. It is the largest indoor dirt oval track.
