Dirt racing, indoors and safe from the elements? Yes, please!

Temperatures will get into the teens and 20s this week in the St. Louis area, but the action at the 2024 Castrol Gateway Dirt Nationals will be red-hot, as more than 150 cars speed their way around the temporary dirt oval inside The Dome at America’s Center.

This year’s Gateway Dirt Nationals will take place Dec. 5-7, with $5,000 preliminary features on Thursday and Friday determining who will race in the $30,000-to-win finale on Saturday night. 

The 2024 edition of the race will be the eighth in history and again will be broadcast live on FloRacing, as it has since 2019.

Gateway Dirt Nationals is the only indoor Super Late Model race of the season and will see the home of the United Football League’s St. Louis Battlehawks transformed into a fifth-mile battleground for cars across two divisions – Super Late Model and Open Wheel Modified.

The excitement will be nearly nonstop across the three days, so plan accordingly. See the complete schedule below. 

Also, don’t forget to drop in on the 57th running of the Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida, which will have racing and fun from Dec. 3-8.

10 a.m. - Fuel storage opens (Cole Street docks)

1 p.m. - Vendor setup begins

4 p.m. - Reserved competitor parking (Row E and F)

8 p.m. - Fuel storage closes

9 p.m. - Registration and credentials office closes
