CARS Tour Champ Carson Kvapil To Run Full NASCAR Xfinity Schedule In 2025
Two-time CARS Tour champion Carson Kvapil will race full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for JR Motorsports in 2025.
JR Motorsports announced Tuesday afternoon that two-time CARS Tour champion Carson Kvapil is being promoted to the NASCAR Xfinity Series as a full-time driver for the team in 2025.
Kvapil is fresh off his first ValleyStar Credit Union 300 victory at Martinsville Speedway, which is the biggest event in Late Model Stock Car racing, and is the biggest win of Kvapil’s career to date.
The second-generation racer has scored a total of 12 CARS Tour victories in 45 starts throughout his career, along with the two back-to-back championships in 2022 and 2023.
Kvapil, after winning Saturday’s race at Martinsville, was able to take some time and reflect on his career with JRM during an interview with FloRacing.
“I’m just super fortunate to be able to run this JR Motorsports car over the last three years,” said Kvapil. “From where I was before I got that ride to where I am now, I just really never thought I’d be in this position. I just really can’t thank Kelley, LW, and Dale Jr, and obviously everybody at JR Motorsports enough. Without that opportunity for them to put me in it at Florence that one day this wouldn’t be happening. They’ve done so much for me. Hopefully I’ve paid them back somewhat with this win.”
The call he's been waiting for.

Kvapil follows other JR Motorsports alumni like Josh Berry, William Byron, and Sam Mayer who all drove for the team in Late Model Stock Car competition at some point before eventually graduating up to the NASCAR Xfinity Series and beyond in the case of Berry and Byron.
Kvapil’s career trajectory is especially similar to Berry’s as Berry became a CARS Tour champion and eventually brought home a grandfather clock to Cayuga Drive in Mooresville before moving on to the Xfinity Series.
“To finish it off with this one is really cool to me. Coming into (Martinsville), I knew I wanted to finish it off with a bang. I put some extra focus on it to be extra prepared for it.”
So far Kvapil has made eight starts in the Xfinity Series, all this season. Kvapil turned a lot of heads with a fourth-place finish in his debut earlier this year at Darlington Raceway. He backed that up by nearly winning in just his second start at Dover Motor Speedway, but would have to settle for second. He’s also led a total of 63 laps throughout those eight starts as well.
JR Motorsports announced Kvapil’s promotion on a social media video, and also announced he will pilot the No. 1 car, which is being vacated by Mayer at the end of the 2024 season.
