CARS Tour Announces Donation Collection To Help Aid Hurricane Helene Relief
CARS Tour and JR Motorsports are holding donation collections for Hurricane Helene victims this week.
As the communities of Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee continue to deal with the devastation from last week’s Hurricane Helene, more and more members of the racing community in North Carolina are stepping up to lead collection drives to help aid those who were left stranded in the wake of the storm.
The latest is the CARS Tour, the premier Late Model Stock Car and Pro Late Model touring series in the Southeast. The CARS Tour, which is owned by Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton, and Trackhouse Racing team owner Justin Marks, announced Tuesday morning that they will be teaming up with Mooresville, North Carolina-based JR Motorsports to collect items for those in need on Tuesday, October 1 between the hours of noon and 4:30 p.m., and Wednesday October 2 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.

The CARS Tour is asking for donations of the following:
• Bottled water
• Sports drinks packets (powdered packets)
• Hydration packs (powder form)
• Baby wipes
• Diapers (children and adult)
• Baby formula
• Bug spray
• Sunscreen
• Plastic utensils
• Manual can openers
• Trash bags
• Non-perishable foods
• Cleaning supplies
• Plastic sheeting/tarps
• Toothbrushes
• Toothpaste
• Toiletries
• Pet food
• Hand sanitizer
• Feminine hygiene products
• Heavy-duty work gloves
• Socks (all sizes, unopened)

CARS Tour officials also told FloRacing that next weekend's penultimate doubleheader event at Tri-County Motor Speedway in Granite Falls, North Carolina is currently still on as scheduled for Saturday, October 12. Tri-County Motor Speedway is located just north of Hickory off of I-40, which just recently reopened east of Asheville on Tuesday morning.
With two races left on the CARS Tour schedule, currently Connor Hall leads Brenden Queen by just one point in the LMSC standings heading to Tri-County, where Queen has won in each of the Tour's last two visits. Meanwhile, Spencer Davis now leads Kaden Honeycutt by 11 points in the Pro Late Model division after winning the last two races in a row.
