The stars of Super Late Model racing are set to “Battle at Berlin” once again on Wednesday night at Berlin Raceway for 250 laps. But before the cars hit the track, we wanted to make sure you’ve got all the information you could need in this edition of Everything You Need To Know.

What Is The Battle At Berlin?

The Battle at Berlin 250 is a 250-lap Super Late Model race at Berlin Raceway, and at $40,000 it is one of the highest winner’s purses in pavement Late Model racing.

The Battle at Berlin grew out of what was initially called “The Rowdy Race,” which was a race put on by the Champion Racing Association with Kyle Busch. The first race was 151 laps in 2009, and then in 2010 it became 251 laps. In 2013, the first “Battle at Berlin” was run and it was still 251 laps. Johnny VanDoorn claimed the victory that evening.

The race remained 251 laps until 2021 when it was shortened to 150 laps and was won by Kyle Crump. In 2022 it finally became the 250-lap race that we still know it as today.

Who Has Won The Battle At Berlin?

Dating back to the days of “The Rowdy Race,” the Battle at Berlin has been won by some of the biggest names to race Super Late Models, including Kyle Busch, Erik Jones, Carson Hocevar, Johnny VanDoorn, and Bubba Pollard. There’s been some surprise winners as well, like Kyle Crump in 2021, and local favorite Evan Shotko in 2022.

Who Is Racing In The Battle At Berlin?

The Battle at Berlin attracts some of the biggest names in Super Late Model racing, as it should with a $40,000 payday on the line. Defending race winner Bubba Pollard headlines the entry list, along with former winners like NASCAR Cup Series drivers Erik Jones and Carson Hocevar. The most recent CARS Tour winner at North Wilkesboro Speedway, Treyten Lapcevich, will also be in competition as he makes his Berlin Raceway debut on Wednesday night.
