Entry list for the 2024 Battle at Berlin 250 for UARA Super Late Models from Marne, Michigan's Berlin Raceway

Marne, Michigan’s Berlin Raceway is known for big races, and biggest among them is the 250-lap “Battle at Berlin” for the Super Late Models that pays out a massive $40,000 to the winner. Big money attracts big names, and there’s no shortage of them making the trip to Western Michigan to battle it out at Berlin.

Headlining the entry list, as he does every time he’s entered for any race, is Senoia, Georgia’s Bubba Pollard. Pollard, the defending winner of the Battle at Berlin, is looking to complete the season sweep here by winning both big races in the same year. Pollard went to victory lane in impressive fashion running the outside line to perfection to take the win in June’s “Money in the Bank” 150. A win this week would also mean that Pollard would be a back-to-back Battle at Berlin champion. Pollard scored the victory in this race one year ago.

Pollard had to hold off Byron, Michigan’s favorite son, NASCAR Cup Series driver Erik Jones to get the job done back in June. Jones is no stranger to Berlin’s victory lane as he scored the win in the 2023 version of the Money in the Bank 150.

Jones is not the only Michigan-born NASCAR Cup Series driver entered this week. He’s joined by Portage, Michigan’s Carson Hocevar. Hocevar, much like Jones, is also no stranger to Berlin Raceway’s grassy victory lane. Hocevar also led a majority of June’s Money in the Bank before fading backwards in the closing laps.

But the road to victory lane at Berlin Raceway always has to go through multi-time track champion, Brian Campbell. On top of his multiple titles, Campbell is also a two-time winner of the Money in the Bank, with his wins coming in back to back years in 2018 and 2019. Campbell also won August’s Battle at Berlin back in 2017.

Another local driver that can never be counted out is Coopersville, Michigan’s Evan Shotko. Shotko shocked the Super Late Model world in 2022 when he beat all of the stars to win that year’s Battle at Berlin, by far the biggest victory of his life.

A couple of CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car drivers will also be making the trip to take on Super Late Model racing’s best on Wednesday night. Michigan native Katie Hettinger is looking for a strong run in her family-owned equipment, while Canada’s Treyten Lapcevich is also looking to conquer the nation’s trickiest 7/16-mile speedplant.

This year’s Battle at Berlin is a two-night event with a three-hour practice and a pit party planned for Tuesday, August 6, while Battle at Berlin race day will be on Wednesday, August 7. The Super Late Models will be joined on the schedule by a 40-lap feature for the Sportsman division. Racing action is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. ET.
