CARS Tour Hands Out Suspensions, Penalties Following Throwback 276
CARS Tour officials released their penalty report following an explosive Throwback 276 at Hickory Motor Speedway.
CARS Tour officials have released a lengthy penalty support following Saturday’s Throwback 276 at Hickory Motor Speedway. Saturday’s doubleheader saw Ryan Millington take out leader Connor Hall in the final corner resulting in Ronnie Bassett Jr.’s first series victory, as well as a post-race altercation involving Andrew Grady and multiple crew members on pit road.
Below are the penalties as explained by the CARS Tour:
For actions detrimental to automobile racing or to the CARS Tour under Section 1A of the Rule Book:
• Driver Buddy Isles Jr. (No. 11) of Vandyke Racing Performance will receive probation for the remainder of the season and will be fined $500 for the unauthorized crossing of the racing surface to confront another competitor. The fine must be paid before returning to the series.
• Driver Andrew Grady (No. 1) of TG Motorsports will receive probation for the remainder of the season and will be fined $500 for the unauthorized crossing of the racing surface to confront another competitor. The fine must be paid before returning to the series.
• Driver Ryan Millington (No. 15) of Saville Millington Motorsports will receive probation for the remainder of the season for rough driving.
For assaulting or threatening to cause bodily harm to a CARS Tour official under Section 1D of the Rule Book:
• Driver Andrew Grady (No. 1) of TG Motorsports will receive a three-race suspension, effective at North Wilkesboro Speedway (Aug. 3), Ace Speedway (Aug. 9), and Wake County Speedway (Aug. 24), and will be fined $1,000. This fine must be paid before returning to the series.
For entering another competitor’s pit area to instigate a physical confrontation under Section 1F of the Rule Book:
• Chris Courtney will receive a one-race suspension, effective at North Wilkesboro Speedway (Aug. 3), and will be fined $500. The fine must be paid before returning to the series.
• Gage Painter will receive a one-race suspension, effective at North Wilkesboro Speedway (Aug. 3), and will be fined $500. The fine must be paid before returning to the series.
