The annual “Throwback 276” for the CARS Tour is back this Saturday, July 27 at Hickory Motor Speedway. It’s one of the most anticipated events on the CARS Tour calendar, and has been ever since the first edition back in 2017. And for the second year in a row, FloRacing is trying to help make the event even bigger by hosting the “Best Appearing Car” award voting on its platform.

FloRacing and the CARS Tour have announced that the fan vote for this year’s best appearing car contest will once again be hosted by FloRacing, and the winner will receive a $500 prize from FloRacing. Five Star Race Car Bodies will be providing a complete Nextgen body for the winner as well, while Ford Performance has also pledged bonus money to each Ford team that participates with a throwback scheme.

VOTE NOW FOR CARS TOUR BEST APPEARING THROWBACK

“Throwback weekend has always been an event where we can capitalize on our roots and invest in paying tributes to the legends who paved the way,” said CARS Tour Director of Operations, Keeley Dubensky. “Partnering with FloRacing again this year to host the fan vote will provide a platform where fans can vote on the throwback schemes live during the race, which is a huge elevation to our annual event. We’re thankful to be partnered with folks who want to grow short track racing while giving back to the drivers and teams. It’s no secret FloRacing has heightened our program overall and grassroots racing is more alive now than ever.”

While last year’s event was themed to pay tribute to the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series and the foundation that series laid for the CARS Tour to become what it is today, this year’s event has an “open” theme, meaning that teams and drivers can pay tribute to whomever they would like through their throwback schemes. That open theme is going to provide race fans the chance to see paint schemes from all through the years of motorsports from various series.

“When FloRacing was asked to host the best appearing car contest once again, we jumped at the opportunity,” said Rob Blount of FloRacing. “I was at Hickory for the first Throwback race, and it’s been fun to watch this event grow into an annual tradition that the teams, fans and series officials all look forward to equally. For us to be a part of the tradition in this way offers us a great opportunity to continue to engrain ourselves in the CARS Tour community. We cannot wait to see the schemes that these teams come out with and see who will be voted the best by the race fans.”

Teams from both the Late Model Stock Car and Pro Late Model divisions are eligible to win the award.

A full photo gallery of the throwback schemes will be posted on FloRacing.com and the FloRacing Facebook page.

Voting will take place on FloRacing.com and will be open throughout the weekend, starting Friday evening following practice, and ending Sunday night at 11:59 p.m. ET. The winner will be announced on Monday, July 29 and the winner will be presented with a check during pre-race ceremonies on August 3 at North Wilkesboro Speedway.
