Money In The Bank Entry List Full Of Talent Ready To Tame Berlin Raceway
From local heroes to big-name invaders, the Money in the Bank 150 entry list is loaded with talent.
It’s finally race week for Berlin Raceway’s “Money in the Bank” 150, one of the biggest pavement Super Late Model races of the year. More than 30 teams are entered to chase the $15,000 prize, and the entry list is full of out-of-town and local talent ready to do battle at the country’s trickiest half-mile oval.
Headlining the entry list, as he does any time he’s entered for a race, is Senoia, Georgia’s Bubba Pollard. Pollard is arguably the best Super Late Model driver in North America currently, and has been for nearly the last decade. Pollard has had plenty of success at Berlin through the years. Pollard won last year’s 250-lap Battle at Berlin, and he’s also the inaugural Money in the Bank winner back in 2017.
A pair of Michigan drivers who make their living in the NASCAR Cup Series are making their return to Berlin this week as well, and both are former winners of the Money in the Bank. Southern 500 champion Erik Jones, from Byron, Michigan will be driving his family-owned No. 4 machine, the same one that he drove to victory lane here at Berlin a year ago. And two-time Money in the Bank winner, Carson Hocevar, from Portage, Michigan, will also be in competition this week.
But the road to victory lane at Berlin Raceway always has to go through multi-time track champion, Brian Campbell. On top of his multiple titles, Campbell is also a two-time winner of the Money in the Bank, with his wins coming in back to back years in 2018 and 2019. Campbell also won August’s Battle at Berlin back in 2017.
Speaking of August’s Battle at Berlin, you can never count out 2022 winner and local favorite, Evan Shotko. Shotko, who hails from nearby Coopersville, shocked the Super Late Model world with back-to-back wins in August of 2022 at Jennerstown (PA) Speedway’s Motor Mountain Masters and then one week later by winning the $30,000 Battle at Berlin. Shotko is still looking for his first win in the Money in the Bank.
Most of the entry list calls Michigan home, but there’s a handful of invaders beyond the aforementioned Pollard. Tony Elrod hails from Lecanto, Florida. Derek Griffith will be making his annual trek west from Hudson, New Hampshire. Michael Atwell will be traveling north from Naples, Florida, and Chase Pinsonneault will have to cross the border from Ontario, Canada. Kris Wright will head west from the Steel City of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Marne, Michigan, Gavan Boschelle will head north from Mooresville, North Carolina, as will Katie Hettinger (who is originally from Dryden, Michigan), and Derek Kneeland will travel to Berlin from Maine. Levie Jones, from Puyallup, Washington, is the only other driver on the entry list from outside of Michigan, though Jones just moved to the Great Lake State prior to the start of the season to compete every week at Berlin.
The 2024 Money in the Bank 150 will take place this Wednesday night, June 12th and it will be streamed live on FloRacing, the online streaming home for Berlin Raceway. Qualifying will take place at 5:30 p.m. ET with racing set to follow at 6:30 p.m. ET.
