With Wednesday wrapped up, we’re through three of the five preliminary nights at the Chili Bowl. Let’s take a quick look at where those preliminary finishers from Wednesday will land in Saturday’s famed alphabet soup:

TO THE A-MAIN (1-2) – Corey Day, Jake Swanson

TO THE B-MAINS (3-8) – Briggs Danner, Michael Faccinto, Colby Copeland, Kale Drake, Jade Avedisian, Tyler Courtney

TO THE C-MAINS (9-14) – Brent Crews, Jerry Coons Jr, Michael Stewart, Brandon Waelti, Rylan Gray, Kyle Cummins

TO THE D-MAINS (15-20) – Blake Hahn, Daison Pursley, Alex Bright, Garet Williamson, Chelby Hinton, Trey Osborne

TO THE E-MAINS (21-24) – David Camfield Jr, Jonathan Beason, Caleb Stelzig, Mitchel Moles

Corey Day became the 52nd driver in history to win a preliminary night at the Chili Bowl Nationals on Wednesday, dominating all 30 laps in a thrilling fashion as he rode the Willie Kahne No. 41 against the curb. The Clovis, CA 18-year-old is now locked-in for his second career Chili Bowl Championship A-Main in his third try.

Jake Swanson delivered the first-ever lock-in for Alex Bowman Racing, finishing P2 in the Ally Racing No. 55A. The Californian is also into his second career Chili Bowl Championship A-Main, trying to rally up another top-five finish like he did in 2017.

Pennsylvanian Briggs Danner enjoyed a breakout night, finishing on the podium and nearly stealing the last lock-in from Swanson on the final restart. The driver of the Meyer/Rossi #1I will go to the front row of Saturday’s B-Main as he stays alive for his first career Chili Bowl Championship A-Main start.

Michael Faccinto made it back-to-back top-fives for Trifecta Motorsports, following McDermand’s P3 with his own P4 in the No. 5U. Colby Copeland kept Matt Wood Racing’s hot streak together, too, earning a P5 himself after Shane Golobic locked-in from P2 on Monday and Landon Brooks drove up to P7 on Tuesday.

Collinsville, OK’s Kale Drake became the highest finishing rookie of the week, and led the way for Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports with a sixth-place finish. He was right ahead of Jade Avedisian in the Mobil 1 #71, which takes her to a second-straight Saturday B-Main and potentially a second-straight transfer to the A-Main.

After stalling on Lap 4 and restarting in 24th, Tyler Courtney drove the NOS Energy Drink No. 57 all the way back to P8 by the time the checkered flew. He kept Abacus Racing’s perfect top-10 streak together, joining teammates Michael Pickens (P3) and David Gravel (P4) in Saturday’s B-Main.

All of the Chili Bowl fun continues tonight with Thursday’s preliminary taking center stage as Kyle Larson flies into town to battle Tanner Thorson. If you can’t be here to witness the Tulsa magic yourself, you can watch every lap live all week long on FloRacing.
