Who's Racing Wednesday At The Chili Bowl? Here's The Entry List
Breaking down the entry list for Wednesday night's preliminary action at the 2024 Chili Bowl Nationals.
It’s day three in Tulsa, and Wednesday brings us perhaps the most wide open preliminary night of the week.
With Rico Abreu racing in Australia, there will be a new winner in Wednesday’s preliminary for the first time in seven years, and the options to choose from are plentiful.
For Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports - who won Monday and Tuesday night - they’ll send three cars to battle with hopes of remaining undefeated in the Expo this week. Tonight it’s Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series champion Jade Avedisian, impressive 15-year-old Brent Crews, and rookie Kale Drake in action for KKM.
Chad Boat’s CB Industries team will rock with Daison Pursley, who went from the C-to-B-to-A last year at Chili Bowl and just two weeks ago, passed 39 cars at the Tulsa Shootout. Jonathan Beason, who was a Tuesday threat for 13 years, is switching to Wednesday in the Hard 8 Racing No. 8J.
Mitchel Moles, who led 29 laps before Abreu stunned him at the checkered last year, is back for redemption now with Reinbold/Underwood Motorsports. “Sunshine” is back in the building after a year away and Tyler Courtney is part of a lethal Abacus Racing lineup - which has finished top-five both nights - as he goes for a second preliminary win.
Jerry Coons Jr. is a late addition to Wednesday, changing to the RMS Racing No. 7X after practice day trouble took his original ride out of operation. He’s going for his 24th consecutive preliminary A-Main, which would tie the all-time record by Dave Darland.
Michael Faccinto is the driver for Trifecta Motorsports tonight, who took Chase McDermand to a podium run last night. There’s also 2023 NARC champion and soon-to-be full-time High Roller Corey Day in the field for Willie Kahne.
Alex Bowman Racing brings Jake Swanson to the table, fresh off a top-10 run with Kevin Thomas Jr. last night. Matt Wood Racing will try to make it three-straight top-10s for them as they put Colby Copeland in the seat tonight.
Of course, we can't go without mentioning five-time Chili Bowl champion Sammy Swindell who will begin his 2024 Chili Bowl on Wednesday night.
Other former Championship A-Main starters including Kyle Cummins, Steve Buckwalter, Alex Bright, Dillon Welch, and Blake Hahn all go tonight, too. It’s a loaded one.
All of the Chili Bowl fun continues today with Tuesday Heat Races beginning at 4pm CT. If you can’t be here to witness the Tulsa magic yourself, you can watch every lap live all week long on FloRacing.
