Brenden Queen Finds CARS Tour Redemption At Tri-County
Results, highlights and more from the CARS Tour Blue Ridge 250 at Tri-County Motor Speedway.
Brenden Queen has had nightmares about running out of fuel in August's Old North State Nationals at Tri-County Motor Speedway ever since. He's replayed it, thinking about what that night would have meant for him. He would have been $30,000 richer, and perhaps the CARS Tour championship would be much more within reach.
So going back to Tri-County has been something Queen and his Lee Pulliam Performance team led by crew chief Doug Powers have been looking forward to. Redemption has been their goal.
Redemption was achieved on Saturday night in a way that left zero doubt in anyone's mind. To call their efforts dominating would have been an understatement. Queen qualified on the pole for the fifth time this season, the most of any driver. He then went out and led all 125 laps, without anybody making any sort of realistic bid for the lead.
Now Queen heads to Caraway Speedway on November 4 for the season finale with a chance, albeit unlikely, to win the championship as he now sits 19 points back of Carson Kvapil.
Winning Quote From Brenden Queen
"Well, it doesn't pay 30-grand, but in our hearts it pays the same, because we just come here to win these races and win the trophies. This is a special night for my guys. Getting to ride that victory lap with Dougie on the side of the car was just special. We've been through so much this year together. I talked him into coming to crew chief me. Man, what a year we've had." - Brenden "Butterbean" Queen
