Expected Entries For Castrol FloRacing Night In America At Tri-County
A look at the list of expected entires for Castrol FloRacing Night in America at Tri-County Racetrack.
Castrol FloRacing Night in America, a popular mid-week Dirt Late Model mini-series, will bring many of the sport's biggest stars to the Ray Cook-owned Tri-County Racetrack on Thursday night. The list of expected entries for the $23,023-to-win event currently stands at 30 drivers, including five of the top six drivers in the latest DirtonDirt.com Dirt Late Model power rankings.
Bobby Pierce, the winner of the last two Castrol FloRacing Night in America events at Fairbury Speedway and Tyler County Speedway, enters the race with a 15-point advantage over Hudson O'Neal in the championship standings. O'Neal, the third-ranked Dirt Late Model driver in the country, has two Castrol wins of his own this year at Lincoln Speedway (IL) and Marshalltown Speedway.
Jonathan Davenport, the 2021 Castrol FloRacing Night in America champion, currently sits third in the standings but has been held winless so far this year in mini-series competition.
Ricky Thornton, Jr., currently ranked the top Dirt Late Model driver in the nation, enters Thursday night's race fourth in the standings with two wins to his credit. Two-time defending Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series champion Tim McCreadie is fifth in the championship standings entering the final three races of the season.
In addition to the series regulars chasing the $75,000 (with perfect attendance) championship, a stout field of Dirt Late Model stars from the Southeast region will be chasing a victory at Tri-County.
One of those drivers is defending race winner Dale McDowell, who claimed his first career series win during last year's Tar Heel 53 at Tri-County. Jimmy Owens, a Castrol FloRacing Night in America winner last season at 411 Motor Speedway, is also expected at Thursday night's race.
Other drivers on the entry list include Tyler Erb, Ricky Weiss, Daulton Wilson, Dennis Erb Jr., Garrett Alberson and Donald McIntosh. The complete list of expected entries can be viewed below.
On-track action is slated to begin with hot laps at 6:30 p.m. ET on Thursday night. 602 Late Models and Front Wheel Drives join Super Late Models on the event schedule.
