The third race of the intense NHRA Countdown to the Championship came with no lack of intensity and drama. Pro Modified was back out on the tour and had a first time winner in Jordan Lazic at his first NHRA Pro Mod race. Lazik qualified in the #2 spot and beat Mike Thielen, Stan Shelton and Mike Castellana in his journey to the final round where Jason Scruggs was unable to make the call due to an engine blow up in the Semi Finals.

In other excitement, Russian Pro Mod up-and-comer, Dymtry Samorukov took a hard hit into the wall during his burnout at World Wide Technology Raceway on Sunday. Nobody was injured, but it was an unfortunate scene and delay for the Safety Safari.

The Pro Mod Championship game is beginning to take shape with one event remaining in the 2023 season. Reigning Champion, Kris Thorne (1019) leads a tight race followed by Justin Bond (988), Mike Castellana (969), Jason Lee (949) and Stan Shelton (928).

The final race of the NHRA Pro Mod Road To The Championship will be at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway October 26-29, 2023.
