Foot Race Will Again Decide Front Row Challenge Pole Winner
Foot Race Will Again Decide Front Row Challenge Pole Winner
For the second straight year, a foot race between drivers will decide the pole winner for the Front Row Challenge at Southern Iowa Speedway.
Sprint Car drivers competing in the Front Row Challenge on Monday, August 7 will need to be fast in more ways than one. For the second straight year, a foot race on the frontstretch of Southern Iowa Speedway will determine the top eight starting positions.
A trio of 40-yard dashes will be contested with the top two finishers in the first two dashes advancing to the final dash for cash and the pole position. The winner of the final foot race will win $1,500 and the pole position for the 30-lap, $21,000-to-win main event.
Traditionally, the top eight starting positions for the Front Row Challenge were decided by "King of the Hill" bracket-style match races. That tradition changed to a foot race last year due to a nationwide tire shortage. After being well received by fans, the foot race will return once again in 2023.

Last year's foot race saw a speedy Carson Macedo take down the competition to earn the pole position. Macedo beat Anthony Macri, Brian Brown and JJ HIckle in the final round. Kyle Larson, Daryn Pittman, Corey Day and Gio Scelzi also participated in the opening rounds.
Larson started fifth in the main event and passed Macedo with eight laps remaining to win his third Front Row Challenge.
The 28th Annual Sage Fruit Front Row Challenge is a one-day 410 Sprint Car show paying $21,000 to win and $1,000 to start on Monday, August 7.
Fans unable to make it to Oskaloosa, Iowa will be able to watch the race (and the foot race) live on FloRacing. If you're not already a FloRacing subscriber, click here to sign up today.
