A memorable win for Layne Riggs and Kevin Harvick Inc. on Wednesday night at Caraway Speedway has been soured following an announcement by the CARS Tour that the team has been disqualified for a technical infraction. Jared Fryar, who finished second at the checkered flag, will be awarded the official win following Riggs' disqualification.

According to a statement made by the CARS Tour on Thursday evening, "officials found a part that was over tolerance on Layne Riggs' winning car in post-race inspection. Motorsports journalist Matt Weaver reported on Wednesday night that the car "was found to have an over tolerance sway bar diameter in post-race technical inspection."

In the statement released by the CARS Tour, it was stated that Kevin Harvick Inc. admitted to an unintentional oversight involving the part and CARS Tour management accepted that explanation.

Riggs was driving the No. 62 Late Model owned by Kevin and Delana Harvick, with Harvick's NASCAR Cup Series crew chief Rodney Childers playing the same role for the Late Model team.

Childers offered an explanation of his misunderstanding with the rule via his Twitter account on Thursday night.

Harvick is part of the new CARS Tour ownership group that includes Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Jeff Burton and Justin Marks.

With Riggs' disqualification, the purse distribution for the rest of the finishing order will be adjusted accordingly.

CARS Tour Late Model Stock Cars will have over a month off before the tour's next race at Hickory Motor Speedway on July 29.

Every CARS Tour race can be streamed live on FloRacing in 2023.
