Layne Riggs has now won a CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car feature on seven different occasions. He's not even a year removed from a NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series national championship. But by watching Riggs celebrate in victory lane at Caraway Speedway last night, you'd have thought it was his very first win. Riggs was overcome with emotion and tears on a special night for he and his family as he drove a car owned by Kevin Harvick Inc. to the win.
Winning Quote From Caraway Speedway
"This is the first time out of a gate with a new team. Kevin ran it one time. Rodney (Childers) just builds rocket ships. There's a reason he's a championship Cup crew chief. He does his homework. I did my homework this week. I spent a lot of time at the shop hands on with this car to try to learn it and figure out what changes we would need to make at the race track. I was so thankful I could just leave it in Rodney's hands and fully trust what he had going on. It's so amazing to get Rodney and Delana (Harvick) and John Paul Linville, Delana's dad, back in victory lane in the 62. I want to dedicate this win to him. Thank you so much to Delana. Thank you so much to Kevin. I am so glad that I was given an opportunity in the number one car tonight to showcase that I can make the job happen, even in the first attempt." - Layne Riggs
