Carson Kvapil Goes Back-To-Back With CARS Tour At Hickory
Defending CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car champion Carson Kvapil scored his second win in a row in the Tuff Shed 250 at Hickory Motor Speedway.
For the second race in a row it was that familiar black No. 8 JR Motorsports car in victory lane. The stats will show that Carson Kvapil dominated the Tuff Shed 250 for the CARS Tour Late Model Stock Cars at Hickory Motor Speedway, but if you look closer you'll see that his win was anything but easy. Kvapil barely held off a hard-charging Connor Hall at the checkered flag, taking the win by 0.025-second over Hall in a thriller at "America's Most Famous Short Track."
Winning Quote From Hickory Motor Speedway
"It was pretty nerve-wracking. I was giving it about all I had those last 30 just waiting for him to fall off. Every lap we'd match times or he'd be just barely faster than me, so I knew it was going to be really tight at the end. I was really worried for us. I was just trying to make no mistakes. With about three to go my car really took a turn for the worst. He was able to just get to my bumper there. I was trying to get to the outside of that lapped car into three so if he went to my inside there was no way he could have beat me at the line. But he just drove up into my left rear and I guess got a chance at it there. Luckily we were able to gather it back up and just barely edge him out at the line." - Carson Kvapil
